Chaparral Challenge Mountain Bike Race sponsored by FoSASP in October has been selected Race of the Year by the participants. The local race is part of the West Texas Championship Series that sanctions events in several West Texas locations. Riders from all the races voted for their favorites. The riders also voted FoSASP as Best Sponsor of the Year. “Congratulations,” said Jeff Lynskey, of American Cycling Association. “Chaparral Challenge had three or four times more swag than anyone else plus a t-shirt. Probably why ya'll won Race of the Year. Of course, it didn't hurt to have the best mountain bike race course in the state.” Ronnie Taylor, FoSASP Board member, coordinates the race and is responsible for all the ‘swag’ (prizes). FoSASP furnishes the t-shirts, concessions, ACA fees and volunteers. The 2007 Chaparral Challenge will be October 22. |
