Educational Exhibits and Opportunities Available
Friends of San Angelo State Park
During the spring months, yellow busses bring lively students on field trips to the park from area schools for
educational experiences in the outdoor setting.

Park personnel have prepared two kits/trunks with activities, information and hands-on items on the American
Bison and Native American Petroglyphs, two of the park’s historical features.

The kits, can be checked out for use in preparation for the field trips or they can used independently in
connection with study of American Indians, Texas History. Presentations can be made by the teacher, a park
ranger or docent. Other group such as Scout troops can check out the trunks.

The Bison trunk contains, among other things, a skull and hide that can be handed. The petroglyh unit
contains materials and instruction for the students to create their own rock etchings.

Longhorn cattle exhibit is being prepared
